The Future Voices Ireland National Schools Programme partners with DEIS schools from around the country. The programme involves focused sessions working with transition year students spread over a 6 month period in each of the schools and will focus on 6 core pillars, leading to the students undertaking a "Community Challenge" through which they will engage in a project that will make positive changes in their communities. The 6 sessions will focus on:

Intended Outcomes:

  • Increased confidence and self-esteem among participants

  • Development of leadership and team-working skills

  • Greater aspirations and ambition among participants

  • Learning of tools required to achieve goals

  • Development of project management skills, and other skills that enhance employability

  • Better knowledge among participants of alternative routes to achieve education and career goals

  • Building a sense of achievement among participants through making positive changes in their communities

  • Fostering participation of young people in decision-making in their communities and beyond.
